News Summary
Amdouni issued BiH passport on basis of valid documents
The Sarajevo Interior Ministry confirmed that it issued a BiH passport to Mehrez Amdouni, who was recently arrested in Turkey. Sarajevo Canton Interior Minister Ismet Dahic confirmed that the passport was issued to Amdouni on the basis of valid documents, before a warrant from Interpol was issued. BiH Deputy Minister of Civil Affairs Nudzeim Recica informed that a warrant for Amdouni was issued by Italian Interpol, explaining that it was not a red warrant, meaning that it was not a priority, and that BiH Interpol was informed of the warrant in April 1999. The Sarajevo Canton Interior Ministry announced that it could not give any official information on this case before now because the issue needed to be checked with the central data base of the naturalization office.
