The media reported in detail on election results announced by the OSCE today. In the municipality Brcko, the SDS won 17 seats, the Coalition for Democratic and Unitary BH 16, the BH SDP and the RS Serb Radical Party 7 seats each, the RS Socialist Party 6 and the HDZ 3 seats.
In the municipality Velika Kladusa , the Democratic National Union (DNZ) 15 seats; the SDA 7 and the Party for BH 2 seats.
The municipality Zvornik – the Coalition for Democratic and Unitary BH 28 seats; SDS-20 seats and the Serb Radical Party 14; the RS Socialist Party 6 and the National Radical Party 2 seats.
The city of Mostar: South-HDZ -17 seats and the Coalition for Democratic and Unitary BH 8 seats; Southeast- 19 seats for the Coalition and the HDZ 3 seats; South-West- of 25 seats 17 went to the HDZ, 7 to the Coalition and 1 seat to the SDP; North – the Coalition won 13 and the HDZ 4 seats. In the municipality Stari grad, the Coalition won 18, the HDZ 4, BPS 2 and the BH SDP 1 seat; West – the HDZ won 18 and the Coalition 6 seats and one seat went to the SDP. As to the city council in Mostar, the Coalition won 14 and the HDZ 10 seats.

Brcko – Supervisor for Brcko Robert Farrand issued an order for establishment of a multi-ethnic administration in Brcko. The report quoted the order extensively informing that the Brcko municipal council would have president, vice president and secretary all from different ethnic groups. Decision would be made by a majority vote.

Strasbourg – The media covered the Second Summit of the Council of Europe with a special emphasis on the activities of a BH delegation headed by Chairman of the BH Presidency Alija Izetbegovic. According to the report, Chairman Izetbegovic met with Spanish Prime Minister Aznar Lopez and US Envoy for Human Rights John Shattack. The talks focused mostly on the implementation of election results in BH and the arrest of war criminals.

Sarajevo – At the IC regular press conference, UN Spokesman Alexander Ivanko expressed his concern over the tense situation in Martin-Brod, near Drvar. Ivanko proposed that the problem of authorities in that town should be resolved at the federation level. On Tuesday, an incident occurred in Martin-Brod when the Croatian authorities attempted to prevent 28 Serb civilians from returning their homes, said the report. According to unconfirmed information, three SFOR soldiers attacked Borivoje Malbasic, an official from the Herzegovina canton. Ivanko criticized local media which “have a negative impact on tensions in that town”, as he put it.
OHR Spokesman, Simon Haselock was quoted to the effect that Momcilo Krajisnik and Gojko Klickovic had refused to accept the terms for restructuring of the RS TV as proposed by the OHR. Thus, the ban on broadcasting against TV Pale would remain in effect until the said terms had been met.
“We do not perceive this as punishment, because our objective is to assist in creating a pluralistic and democratic information system in the RS. The RS citizens deserve better programme”, specified Haselock.
