Pensioners in the BiH Federation
In the BiH Federation towns, pensioners came out to the streets in order to protest due to their very difficult economic situation. OBN received reports on the protests from Sarajevo, Tuzla, Mostar and Zenica. The report from Sarajevo was produced by OBN reporter, Anes Alic.
Belgrade
Today, the member of the BiH Presidency, Zivko Radisic, together with the RS Assembly President, Petar Djokic, and the ex RS President, Nikola Poplasen, met with the Yugoslav President, Slobodan Milosevic, indicted for war crimes. Although details of the meeting were not announced, it was assumed that the main topic of the meeting was tomorrow’s special session of the RS Assembly. The Assembly will discuss cancelling of charges raised by BiH against the Federal Republic Yugoslavia.
Announcement of the HDZ Party in BiH
A reaction of the HDZ Party in BiH to the raising of criminal charges against high-ranking Croat officials by the Deputy President of the Hercegovina-Neretva Canton Assembly. The HDZ Party in BiH think that this could be a danger political act which could deteriorate further implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
World
A report on the presentation of the peace plan for East Timor was followed by reports on the current events in Chechenia, Mexico and Israel. The report was produced by OBN journalist, Zeljka Lekic. This was followed by a report on Kosovo, produced by OBN journalist, Gordana Frimel.
Foca (Srbinje)
Foca (Srbinje) is one of the towns from the black list of the International Community. However, the town officials now want to change the current situation. Foca was closed for the process of return, visits of media and international organisations until now. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter, Damir Kaletovic.
Capljina
The return process in the Capljina area has been intensified. One hundred and twenty five Serb families have returned to Klepce and Prebilovce villages. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter from the area, Sinisa Jokic.
Brcko
During the last three years, between 5,500 and 6,000 people have returned to the North part of the district. Approximately 2,000 houses were reconstructed with the sources provided by donators. There is still 7,000 houses, destroyed during the war, to be reconstructed, OBN reporter from Brcko, Slobodanka Radojkovic, confirmed.
Ljubija
A piece on the return to the Ljubija mining town. Bosniaks are returning to houses without electricity and water. Still, they need donators for reconstruction of their destroyed houses. Ten thousand Serbs currently situated in Ljubija, also ask for a solution. The report was produced by OBN reporter from the area, Milena Letic-Joves.
Poverty in the World
Hunger and poverty are the two greatest problems the world is facing today. What did the international community do in order to alleviate this? The report on the poorest countries in the world was produced by OBN reporter, Mladen Maric.
Concert
The wealthy part of the world is trying to help. Top leaders and musicians of the world decided to use advantages of the Internet in order to gather money for those who need it. Music concerts will be held in London, Geneva and New York. OBN gained an exclusive right to rebroadcast the concerts on October 15th and 16th, OBN reporter, Mirela Pehar, confirmed.
