Belgrade

The Former Yugoslav President, Slobodan Milosevic congratulated Vojislav Kostunica for the election victory last night. The EU and NATO called for extradition of Milosevic. The Yugoslav Assembly session and inauguration ceremony of the new President started in Belgrade, Danica Ilic reported.

Montenegro

The Montenegrin SDP advocates referendum for independence, regardless of Kostunicas election victory in Yugoslavia. The Montenegrin President, Milo Dukanovic said that the Yugoslav elections were illegitimate. The SNP President, Predrag Bulatovic called for Serbian SDP to recognise Kostunica as the new President. Sarajevo

President of the Independent Union from Belgrade, Branislav Canak visited Sarajevo. Mr. Canak feels that the Yugoslav crisis is not over, and that the only solution is a union between Momir Bulatovic and Vojislav Kostunica, Svjetlana Celic reported.

Banja Luka

“The International Community supports the moderate stream in the RS, which will lead B&H into European integration”, the Member of the British Parliament, Paddy Ashdown said. Mr. Ashdown feels that the change of authorities in Yugoslavia could have a positive influence on B&H. Reported by Nedeljka Breberina.

The RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik and the British Ambassador in B&H, Graham Hand signed joint statement on institutional support for the RS Government today.

Zenica

The Slovenian company “Perutnina Ptuj” has planned a joint investment with “Agrokomerc” in the amount of DM 30 million in B&H. The process is very slow, due to complicated administrative procedures in B&H, which negatively influence on foreign investors. The report was produced by Nela Kacmarcik.

Mostar

The EC signed a DM 2 680 000 worth contract for reconstruction of the Mostar airport. “Mostar has received more aid than any other town in B&H. We hope that one day it will be a unified town”, said the EC Spokesperson, Frane Marojevic. With the last donation, reconstruction of the airport will be completed, Denis Vila reported.

Zenica

“Natron” from Maglaj is one of 86 companies that will be privatised through tender bureau. There are about 1600 redundant employees in the company, and there is no social programme for solving their situation.

Prijedor

KM 12,5 million were invested in construction of the Pensioners’ Centre in Prijedor. Although the construction was completed more than 6 months ago, the Centre is still empty, and a large number of pensioners still live in collection centres. Reported by Milena Letic-Joves.
