Yugoslavia

Even if bad weather conditions in Yugoslavia limited NATO strikes, it did not stop Serbian Military Forces from continuing military operations in Kosovo. In today’s bombing 10 persons at least were killed in Nis. OBN’s reporter from Belgrade, Natasa Narancic, reports that the severest strikes during the previous night were in the airport, industrial area and other places. She also reported that four persons were injured during the strike on an private house in Nis. According to the report from the Clinics 30 persons were injured, too. Another target of the strikes was transmitter of TV Serbia and the airport near Pristina. The railway bridge was damaged on the international railway Belgrade-Temishvar.

Military NATO Spokesman, Walter Jertz, confirmed that civil subjects were not NATO targets.

According to the UNHCR report, Macedonian border with Yugoslavia still is closed for Kosovo refugees.

Kosovo-reactions

After the G-8 countries Foreign Ministers’ meeting, it was announced that the NATO air campaign continues. Milosevic must comply agreement made in Bonn. Meantime, The American Congress approved additional money for operations in the Balkans.

Sarajevo

Members of BiH Presidency, Zivko Radisic and Alija Izetbegovic discussed with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinson on human rights issues in BiH. Also, she has met the ombudsman in BiH and she was satisfied by their work.

Sarajevo

World Bank Executive Director made a two days’ long visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina referring to the following Donors Conference and crises in the region. He had a meeting with Co-presidents of the BiH Ministry Council Haris Silajdzic and Neven Tomic. Next meeting was planned with Co-President Svetozar Mihajlovic in Banja Luka.

BiH

A piece on the return of the President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik from the Yugoslav border. As he said nobody mistreated him at the Serbian border area.

At today’s consultative meeting in Banja Luka it was agreed that representatives from Republika Srpska would assist in the further sessions of both Parliament Houses.

Parliament representatives made the decision to approve the special relationship between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.

Tuzla

Federation BiH

Twenty four technicians in criminaology completed their training, which was donated by USA Government.

The Hague Tribunal

Even if he was accused for war crimes, the Hague Tribunal decided to release Bosnian Croat who handled by prisons in Central Bosnia, Zlatko Aleksovski. Judges concluded that he was not guilty for breking the rules of Geneva’s Convention.

BiH – Certificates

Certificates for privatization process were printed today. Deadline to correct eventual mistakes would be 30 days after receiving these certificates. Who would take responsibility for these incorrect certificates that would make a lot of problems in the privatization process, particularly to refugees, asked OBN’s reporter Sanjin Beciragic.

Sarajevo

Representatives of both the Ministries for Refugees and Social Politics from the Federation BiH and the Republika Srpska have met each other today to exchange the data on refugees in these entities.

Brcko

Supervisor for Brcko announced his assistance at the Donors’ Conference. He also said that he expects aid for Brcko particularly from this Conference.

According to the OBN’s reporter Slobodanka Radojkovic report, there are 670.000 unemployed people in Brcko, which is a great problem in the region.

Una-Sana Canton – Cazin

Production of berrylike fruits will be stable financial source for 300 families in the region. Realization of this project started this Summer.

Travnik

Project connected to the placement of women in society assembled all active women and representatives of UN governmental organizations from seven Bosnian Cantons.
