The Republic of Croatia confirmed its decision not to extradite Fikret Abdic to Bosnia and Herzegovina. BiH authorities claim that Fikret Abdic committed war crime. According to the Croatian Constitution, Croatian citizens can not be extradite. Fikret Abdic has the Croatian citizenship. Goran Vezic produced the report for OBN.

Banja Luka

The RS customs officers continue the “Stop Smuggling” action. This time, they confiscated 20,000 DEM from three individuals on the border crossing with Yugoslavia and technical equipment from a private company from Mrkonjic Grad, worth 50,000 DEM, OBN reporter from the town, Dragan Stanimirovic, confirmed.

Sarajevo

At today’s session of the BiH Presidency, the representatives discussed information of the Ministry of Civilian Affairs and Communications about current situation with refugees and displaced persons.

This was followed by a report on the session of the BiH Permanent Military Committee. The main issues discussed at the meeting were security potential of BiH and its military representation abroad, OBN reporter, Amarildo Gutic, confirmed.

The Representative House of the BiH Parliament anonymously adopted the law on revision of the finance operations of the BiH institutions at their session today. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Sevko Bajic.

Today, the eighth session of the Representative House of the BiH Federation Parliament was interrupted due to the lack of representatives, OBN reporter, Slobodan Maksimovic, confirmed.

World

In an incident which occurred near Kosovska Mitrovica, one Serb was killed while more than 30 Serbs, Kosovo Albanians, Russian and French members of KFOR were wounded. After four years, Xavier Solana finished his mandate as the NATO General Secretary. This was followed by a report on the continuation of the protests against Slobodan Milosevic in Serbia. Fights in Chechenia became more intense. Reports on the current events in East Timor, floods in Mexico and investigation on yesterday’s train accident near London followed. Banja Luka

The main issue of the discussion between the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for BiH, Jacques Paul Klein, and the RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik, was the role on the UN Mission in BiH. They discussed reconstruction of police in the RS, OBN reporter from the town, Milorad Milojevic, confirmed.

Zenica

Sixteen Serb police officers will officially start to work in the multiethnic police forces of the Zenica-Doboj Canton tomorrow. Another 11 Serb police officers currently attend the police Academy in Sarajevo. The report was produced by OBN reporter from the town, Koraljka Kurcenberger.

Tuzla

Two hundred fifty employees of the Tuzla chemical factory “TDI” went on strike. The employees demand dismissal of the management because of the lack of cooperation.

Sarajevo

A piece on the signing of an agreement in Sarajevo between the UN Development Program and entity officials of the Ministry of Social Policy, worth 4 million DEM. The aim of the project is to establish new approach in the social protection of BiH citizens. OBN reporter, Anes Alic, produced the report.

Mostar

A piece on the withdrawal of DEM and Croatian kuna from the non-cash payment operations on the BiH territory. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter from the town, Denis Vila.

This was followed by a piece on the progress of investigation on the incident which occurred on September 28th in the Ilici village in the Mostar Municipality. Due to the incident, the return of Bosniaks to the area had been postponed. Representatives of the current inhabitants of Ilici determined preconditions for the return of Bosniaks which only further complicates return to the area.
