The Jordan Queen visited BiH today within a humanitarian mission. The Jordan Queen visited Sarajevo, Mostar and Tuzla. The Queen handed over keys of nine ambulances to the representatives of the BiH Federation Government. The report on Queen’s visit to Sarajevo was produced by OBN reporter, Zeljka Lekic.

Tuzla

This was followed by a report on the visit of the Jordan Queen to Kalesija (Tuzla). The Queen handed over a donation to the local health centre worth more than 200,000 DEM, OBN reporter from the area, Muhamed Berbic, confirmed.

Fojnica

Ambassadors accredited in BiH, visited franciscan monastery in Fojnica today. The Ambassadors visited the library and museum. The Monastery needs funds for the reconstruction and Turkey promised concrete help for the reconstruction of the Fojnica Monastery, which had important role in BiH history. Podgorica, Montenegro

Montenegrin Prime Minister, Filip Vujanovic, said that Montenegro lacked some 70 million DEM for the proper functioning of a two currencies monetary system. This could be compensated with 40 million dollars, approved by the US Congress for the support of Montenegro for the forthcoming period. A report from Podgorica for OBN was produced by Olja Bulatovic.

This was followed by an telephone interview made with the US Professor of Economics, Steven Hanke, Advisor of the Montenegrin President. Professor Henke said that the introduction of the German mark, as a parallel currency of payment, was only the first step in the reform of the monetary system in Montenegro. The next step would be legalisation of all currencies in private transactions, and the third step would be introduction of Montenegrin mark. The Professor also said that Belgrade’s decision to quit payment operations with Montenegro would harm Serbia rather than Montenegro. A piece on the referendum in Australia, whether the country would become a republic or continue to be a monarchy, citizens voted for the continuation of monarchy. Sarajevo

There are eight million six hundred thousand USD on the bank account of the BiH Hub of the Civil Aviation in Brussels. The money was paid for using BiH air space during 1998. The Hub will be able to take its money soon because the agreement between the BiH Council of Ministers and the International Organisation for Civil Air Traffic has been reached, OBN reporter, Vedran Persic, confirmed.

Zivinice

A continuation of the story about illegal assigning of the land that belongs to the Zivinice Municipality. OBN’s allegations were confirmed by the Main Federal Inspector for Agriculture. The authorities started up the investigation, not only about the land, but the usage of the budget funds as well. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Amarildo Gutic.

Prijedor

A piece on the obstruction of the process of return in the Prijedor municipality. Before the war, some 60,000 Croats and Bosniaks had lived in the municipality. Eight thousand forty seven claims for return have been submitted to date. Approximately eight hundred of them were solved positively. Only 213 out of 1,396 planned houses for this year have been built to date. The report was produced by OBN reporter from Prijedor, Milena Letic-Joves.

Lukavica

“IDIS” is the first non-governmental organisation from the RS which started to operate in the east part of this BiH entity. At the beginning of their work, there were different obstructions. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter, Damir Kaletovic.

Sarajevo

In the post-war period, Sarajevo and other towns in the BiH Federation, faced with the increase of sexual attacks against women. During this year, only in Sarajevo, 150 sexual attacks were recorded. OBN reporter, Anes Alic, researched how women can protect themselves in such cases.
