Zenica
The Independent Union of Workers organised a protest in Zenica today. More than 1000 workers were there. They demanded their salaries in their last peaceful demonstrations, as they said. Sarajevo
The Pensioners’ Association in Sarajevo called a few Federal Ministers to resign for moral reasons, because they haven’t fulfilled their promises and obligations to the pensioners. Brussels
A financial conference of the Stability Pact started in Brussels. Representatives of 37 states and 35 international institutions participate at the conference. The EC Commissioner, Chris Patten and the main co-ordinator of the Pact, Bodo Hombach opened the conference. Mr. Hombach expressed the hope that they would gather about $1,5million for the implementation of the Pact. The Bosnian Foreign Minister, Jadranko Prlic is the head of Bosnian delegation. Banja Luka
The Hague investigators started the interrogation of 3 Serbs indicted for war crimes in Srebrenica, and 5 witnesses. All 8 of them were soldiers in the Serb Army, and they testify voluntarily. Even the suspects can refuse to speak any time. They have to repeat their statements in the Hague, said the lawyer Krstan Simic. Also, the suspects cannot be arrested during the interrogation. The RS Supreme Defence Council assembled in Banja Luka today. The Vice-president of the RS, Mirko Sarovic, said that this was a regular meeting. Among other things, they talked about the reduction of military potentials. Reported by Tatjana Lajsic.

5 days ago, the Vice-President of the Federation of B&H, Ivo Andric Luzanski, demanded the Constitutional Court to postpone all hearings until the appointment of new judges. The mandate of the current judges expired on 1st March. Luzanski did not appear at the court, because he thinks it is not legitimate. The report was produced by Sanjin Beciragic.

The UN Civil Administrator for Kosovo, Bernard Kouchner wrote the Regulatory Book for political parties, as a part of the preparations for the elections. Special informer of the UN suggested the removal of all economic sanctions against Yugoslavia, underlining that no compromises can be made with the Kosovo extremists.
The Security Council will send their mission to Kosovo at the end of the next month, in order to supervise the UN work there.

Representatives of the British city of Derby visited Sarajevo today. They want to start economic and tourist co-operation with Sarajevo. Many exhibitions, concerts and films of British artists have been planned within the “Britain-Bosnia” Festival.
