Sarajevo

An exclusive story about the escape of one of the most dangerous world terrorists from the Central Prison in Sarajevo was presented last night in TV Info. The French citizen was sentenced to 20 years in prison because of committed murders and robberies. He escaped from the Sarajevo Central Prison on May 26th, only a few days before he was supposed to be hand over to the French authorities. The investigation is going on.

Kosovo – Diplomacy

The Special Russian Envoy for the Balkans, Chernomyrdin, has arrived to Belgrade for the forth time in order to clear position of Belgrade regarding the Kosovo crisis, Chernomyrdin said. In the meantime, the US State Secretary Deputy, Strobe Talbott, is in Brussels.

Yugoslavia

NATO made severest air strikes against the Federal Republic Yugoslavia from the beginning of this air operation, Jamie Shea, NATO Spokesman said. Main targets were posts of the Yugoslav army in Kosovo and other military facilities all over Serbia.

Sarajevo

A story about a Kosovo family which has recently fled Kosovo. The father, who was working in the security of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, was arrested by the Yugoslav authorities and sentenced to 15 years in prison for allegedly being a spy.

President of the International Olympic Committee visited Sarajevo today. There are some indications that Sarajevo is closer to an idea of being a host of the Olympic winter Games 2010.

Mostar

Presidency of the HDZ held its session today in Mostar.

Banja Luka

Envoy of the German Government for Refugees, Hans Koschnik, visited Banja Luka today and met with the Mayor Umicevic.

From Banja Luka, came a reaction to the decision of the High Representative to suspend right of authorities in the both BiH entities regarding disposal of socially owned land. Krstan Simic, lawyer from Banja Luka, said that this decision endangered rights of refugees.

Return

Reports on return of refugees came from the Pritoka village in the Bihac area and Bijelo Polje in the Mostar area. First returnees started returning to Pritoka while in Bijelo Polje first Croat returnees, after many problems, have started reconstructing their houses.

World

A report on the current situation in the relations between India and Pakistan.

It was announced that the US President, Bill Clinton, would visit Slovenia on June 21st. Ljubljana will be the first stop of the US President on his European tour which is to include France and Switzerland.

Sarajevo

The BiH intellectuals discussed today the future Pact of stability for the South East Europe. They think that the Pack would help stabilisation in Europe.

Tuzla

The Business Forum in Tuzla ended today. The participants were discussing strategies how to get closer to the European integration.

Sarajevo

A report on a donation of the Swedish Railroads made to the railroads in BiH. Twenty five cargo and ten passenger railroad cars were donated.

Banovici
