Sarajevo (Preparations for the Summit)
The document for the Summit is finished in Brussels. In Sarajevo, protocol of the BiH Presidency members’ activities has been finalised. The BiH Foreign Minister, Jadranko Prlic, met with the ambassadors of the G8 countries and the countries from the region today. The meetings were not opened for the public.
This was followed by a report on the visit of the BiH Presidency members to Zetra. This was the official opening of the press center in the hall. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Vedran Persic. After the visit, the Presidency members held a press conference.
More than 4,000 SFOR troops in BiH are included in the preparations for the Summit. Their main task is to insure support to the security activities regarding the Summit. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Zeljka Lekic.
OBN got an exclusive right to shoot the test ride of the Summit participants from Sarajevo airport to the Zetra hall. A report on this was produced by OBN reporter, Slobodan Maksimovic.
Government of the Sarajevo Canton held its session today. The Canton gave 500,000 DEM for the Summit. The Government of the Canton discussed final preparations for the Summit.
Sarajevo / Donja Trnova
This was followed by a piece on July 27th, the Day of the anti-fascistic upraise of the BiH peoples in the Second World War. The central manifestation was held in the Donja Trnova village at the foot of the Majevica mountain in the RS.
Sarajevo
At the session of the Permanent Military Committee, held on July 15th, it was agreed to establish two working groups in order to improve measures of stability in BiH. The first session of the second work group at the level of entities’ defense ministers was held today. A report was produced by OBN reporter, Sefko Bajic.
This was followed by a report on the economy situation in the BiH Federation and RS. The key issues in the BiH Federation are trade between the entities, education system and pension-invalid insurance. A report was produced by OBN reporter, Sanjin Beciragic.
Kosovo
The USA will provide up to $500 million humanitarian aid for Kosovo. The aid will consist of food, construction material and other similar supplies for the Kosovo civilians. The decision will be announced at the donor conference for reconstruction of Kosovo, tomorrow in Brussels.
World
This was followed by reports on the current events in the Middle East, North Korea and Russia.
Lazine
Signing of the agreement for reconstruction of 89 family houses and two water supply systems in three municipalities of the Srednja Bosna Canton – Novi Travnik, Travnik and Vitez. The project is worth DEM 2,5 million. The funds for the project were provided by the Government of the Kingdom of Netherlands.
Pridjel Gornji
A piece on the return of 109 Bosniak families to the Pridjel Gornji village. The families returned on March 6th but not a single house was reconstructed to date.
Sport
A report on the European Championship in swimming was followed by a report on the beginning of the meeting in the International Olympic Committee Hub where the participants would decide on the future participation of BiH sportsmen on international competitions.
