European Council
Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Zivko Radisic, said that Bosnia and Herzegovina really wanted to become a member of the European Council. In his addressing to the EC Parliament Assembly, he said that the future of BiH would be a full implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, stabilization, preservation of lasting peace, social and economy recover, development and cooperation.
Yugoslavia
Up to now, NATO have had some 500 air strikes against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. A senior British officer said that there would be no fast injection and that moral among Serbian troops is declining.
In a meantime, new NATO troops are coming to Macedonia.
Spokesman of NATO, Jamie Shea, announced that heir priority would be development of plans for naval control of oil supplying for Yugoslavia. The Russian Foreign Minister, Igor Ivanov, warned that the oil embargo against Yugoslavia would only make the current situation worse, and repeated that Russia would not comply with it.
Luxembourg
Foreign ministers of the EU members met today with their Macedonian and Albanian counterparts in Luxembourg today in order to discuss their intention for strengthening their links with the countries exposed to the severest pressures of the Kosovo refugee crisis.
Sarajevo
The BiH Foreign Minister, Jadranko Prlic, said that the donor conference would probably be held next month in Brussels. The Minister excluded any possibility for BiH being used by NATO for the strikes against the Federal Republic Yugoslavia.
RS
The Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Zivko Radisic, congratulated the State Day to the Yugoslav President, Slobodan Milosevic. The Russian President also sent a telegram.
Banja Luka
The special session of the RS National Assembly was continued today in Banja Luka. The session was interrupted on March 24th, and the main issue at the today’s session was the current political situation in Republika Srpska after the decision of the High Representative to dismiss Nikola Poplasen from a position of the RS president.
Press conferences of the international organizations were held today in Banja Luka and Doboj.
Sarajevo, Zenica
The railway workers in the BiH Federation are on strike from 15.00 hrs today. Trains servicing SFOR and the Federation Army are only operational. The railway workers have sent their demands to the Federal Government, employers and the High Representative in order to solve a hard situation within the system of railways.
Tuzla
A contract on project of using salt water Tetima and production of salt was signed today in the headquarters of the “Sodaso” factory in Tuzla.
Gornji Vakuf
An unidentified device exploded at 3.30 a.m. in the building owned by advocate Ivan Saric in Gornji Vakuf municipality. His family was home but no one was injured. Ivan Saris was the first President of HDZ Party in this municipality and Governor of the Srednja Bosna Canton. Recently, he was very active in the New Croatian Initiative. Police of Srednja Bosna Canton undertook all necessary measures to investigate this case.
Travnik
International community in Srednja Bosna Canton was concerned about double use of housing apartments. People moved in only about 50 renewed houses. Chief of UNHCR Ground Office and Vice Governor of Srednja Bosna Canton discussed this issue today in Travnik.
Mostar
Croatians who were refugees can return to their houses in Mostar region. Process of moving out temporary users of their houses was ongoing.
Banja Luka
Editor of Magazine “Reporter” from Banja Luka said that this magazine could not be found for a sale in Federation BiH since NATO strikes against Yugoslavia started. As our reporter found on the ground, 300 pieces are distributed in the Federation and camera noticed “Reporter” in tobacco and newspaper shops in Federation BiH.
