Maglaj

The road between Maglaj and Zavidovici is still blocked, because of announced evictions in Bocinja. Citizens of Stolac and Bakotici blocked the road, demanding cancellation of the evictions. A state of emergency was proclaimed in Maglaj last night. The Municipality Head negotiated with refugees in Bakotici, but they failed to reach an agreement. Reported by Mirna Sadikovic.

Sarajevo

The NATO Secretary General, George Robertson will arrive in B&H this evening. Members of the NAC also announced their arrival. The NATO delegation will meet local and international officials in B&H. They will visit the SFOR Camp in Butmir. The construction of the camp was completed at the beginning of June. About 2000 SFOR soldiers will be located there. Reported by Vedran Persic.

World

The NATO Secretary General, George Robertson and 10 NAC members visited Kosovo. They met representatives of ethnic communities and international police.

3 Serb policemen were wounded in a demilitarised area between Kosovo and Serbia.

The FRY Army Spokesman said that the Army would not attack Montenegro.

The US President, Bill Clinton will go to Japan tomorrow, at a G8 meeting.

The Russian and Chinese presidents signed a Beijing Declaration for solving of border issues.

The President of Iraq, Sadam Hussein celebrated the 32nd anniversary since the coup d’etat.

A local politician was buried in Spain. He was another victim of the terrorist organisation “Eta”. OBN journalist Mladen Maric produced the piece on current world events.

The RS Government discussed conclusions of the RS Assembly about the Government’s future work. They prepared an operation plan, which will be available to everyone. The Government also prepared answers to questions of the delegates in the Assembly. They did not support the draft law on B&H state statistics. Tatjana Lajsic produced the report.

Employees of the RS Post Office stopped their strike today, after the Government granted some of the Union’s requests. The Striking Board will meet again in 15 days, in order to analyse results of the strike, Nedeljka Breberina confirmed.

The RS Supreme Court Council was established today in Banja Luka. The Chairman of the RS Supreme Court, Jovo Rosic was appointed as the new Chairman of the Council. Several RS and international officials attended the session. The report was produced by Biljana Arsic.

Sarajevo

The new authorities of the Novi Grad Municipality planned implementation of 100 projects in the first 100 days of their work. 89 projects have been implemented so far. The German Ambassador in B&H visited the Municipality and met the Municipality Head, Damir Hadzic. Reported by Damir Kaletovic.

The Transitory Assembly had a session in Brcko today. They discussed a new organisation of health system in the area. The report was produced by Slobodanka Radojkovic.

Sarajevo

The Egyptian Ambassador in B&H delivered three machines for testing the quality of meat and meat products to the Faculty of Agriculture in Sarajevo. They also donated books about production of healthy food to the UPI Institute for Research and Development. Reported by Adis Saranovic.
