Yugoslavia

The Yugoslav Army has left some of the sectors in Kosovo even before expiring of a deadline. There are more and more calls to Kosovo Serbs not to leave Kosovo. The Kosovo Liberation Army and NATO have signed today a general agreement about demilitarization of Kosovo. Two British journalists were wounded last night in the area between Prizren and the border with Macedonia. Attackers are unknown. OBN reporter, Natasa Narancic, reported from Pristina.

In the morning, British troops, part of KFOR, entered a police station in Pristina where Kosovo Albanians were tortured. KFOR spokesman said that they have called investigators of the Hague Tribunal to come to the spot. A British official, quoting reports of Kosovo Albanians, announced that 10,000 Kosovo Albanians were killed in more than a hundred massacres.

Kosovo – diplomacy

The US President, Bill Clinton, visited Paris today within his touring of Europe. In the meantime, his ministers met with their Russian counterparts. Negotiations on the Russian participation within peace troops in Kosovo still without results.

Banja Luka

A report on the request made by the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Bijeljina for conducting an investigation against the Serb Radical Party Acting President, Mirko Blagojevic, and another two members of the Party, Slobodan Cvijetic and Miodrag Rankovic.

Sarajevo

Today in Sarajevo, the BiH Council of Ministers held its session. The participants again discussed working plan for this year. However, the agreement has not been reached yet. At the today’s session, differences in political options were evident.

Banja Luka

This was followed by a report from the RS Government session held today in Banja Luka. Privatization in the RS was one of the main issues discussed at the session.

Mostar

In Mostar, the BiH Federation Government held its session. The participants tried to find a solution for problems obstructing entering of BiH into the Council of Europe. OBN reporter from Mostar, Senad Efica, produced a report on this.

Sarajevo

A report on the announcement of railroads workers to go on strike as from tomorrow morning. Among other requests, workers ask from the Government to provide funds for social security of workers.

Brcko

A report on the DEM 4,3 million provided for reconstruction of infrastructure in the Brcko District. OBN reporter from Brcko, Slobodanka Radojkovic sent the report. The funds were provided by USAID.

Zepce

Before her visit to Brcko, UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy, Elizabeth Rehn, visited Zepce today. The meeting with the Croat officials was attended by the Head of the OSCE Mission in BiH, Ambassador Robert Barry. The participants discussed return of the Croats to the RS.

Sarajevo

A report on the meeting between the BiH Presidency Chairman, Ante Jelavic, with the SFOR Commander, Gen. Montgomery Meigs, was followed by a report on the accusation made by Adamir Jerkovic, advisor of the BiH Presidency Member, Alija Izetbegovic, that Zivko Radisic, another member of the Presidency, appointed Svetozar Miletic for a co-agent at the Hague Tribunal without authorization.

Banja Luka

A report on the Republic Croatia Consular Department in the RS. Refugees from Croatia, currently in the RS, wait long hours in front of the Consular Department in order to sign up for return to Croatia.

Sarajevo

This was followed by a report on the current developments with Coca-Cola products at the European market and reflections to the BiH market.

Banja Luka

A piece on the Vitaminka factory from Banja Luka and its plan to enter the international market.

This was followed by report on public kitchens in the town and difficult economic situation RS.

IMC

A report on the session of the Independent Media Commission today in Sarajevo. A hundred and eighty seven media in BiH have gained provisional work licenses to date.

Sport

A report on the selection for the basketball team that will represent BiH at the forthcoming European Championship was followed by a report on the new world record in 100m sprint race and preparations for the Copa America. Viewers will be able to watch Copa America football matches on OBN. NBA report followed.
