Sarajevo
Representatives of the Council of Europe held a press conference in Sarajevo. “B&H has to adopt an election law by the end of the month, as the last condition for membership of the Council of Europe this year”, they warned. Representatives announced start of a campaign called “Diversity”, whose main purpose will be promotion of tolerance and democracy, Zeljka Lekic reported.
Mostar
Zoran Soldo, one of the five indicted war criminals in Mostar, surrendered to the Canton Court today.
“The arrest operation on Monday was legal”, the UN Spokesman, Stefo Lehmann said. Mr. Lehmann also welcomed recent arrests in Croatia. Reported by Mirsad Behram.

Indictment for war crimes was raised in Gospic against 5 arrested suspects.

Sarajevo
The Prince Salman of Saudi Arabia arrived in B&H for a 5-day visit. He will meet several political and religious officials. Educational centres in Sarajevo, Tuzla and Brcko, financed by the Government of Saudi Arabia will be opened during his visit. Reported by Sevko Bajic.
Mostar
The B&H Association of refugees and the displaced organised a press conference today. There are about 30 000 refugees who live in tents in B&H. The Association demanded that the US Ambassador Miller supports a donors’ conference for projects that have not been financially supported so far. The report was produced by Misijana Brkic.
Mostar
Several thousands of Croats are still waiting for return to the east part of Mostar. Potential returnees say that the international community is not interested in their cases. Ivan Pavkovic produced the report.
Visegrad
The OSCE political resource centre was opened in Visegrad today. The Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission in B&H, Dieter Woltman opened the centre. Reported by Damir Kaletovic.
The OSCE Mission in B&H announced that the pre-election campaign would start on 27th September.
Banja Luka
The Director of the RS Fund for Pension-Invalid Insurance, Svetozar Mihajlovic resigned today. Mr. Mihajlovic said that the reason for his resignation was the lack of financial discipline in the RS.
Zenica
Employees of the company “Prim” tried to meet representatives of the Canton Government, after a month-and-a-half strike. However, the meeting did not take place. The Canton Government does not want to announce bankruptcy of the company because, in that case, they would have certain obligations to the employees. The report was produced by Amarildo Gutic.
