BiH Council of Ministers
The Representative House of the BiH Parliament Assembly did not decide to dismiss the BiH Council of Ministers. The dismissal was initiated by the Social Democrat Party (SPS) representatives and supported by the Serb Democrat Party (SDS) due to inefficiency of the Council. Travnik
The vice presidents of BiH entities, Ejup Ganic and Mirko Sarovic, met today in Travnik. This was the third meeting of the vice presidents. The meeting was not open to the public. Sarovic was surprised with the arrival of media while Ganic promoted the idea of one billion dollars credit for the refugee return of more than half a million of refugees, OBN reporter, Sevko Bajic, confirmed.
Banja Luka
President of the BiH Association of Refugees and Displaced Persons said today in Banja Luka that half of donor funds for reconstruction has been spent for the administration of the non-governmental organisations, dealing with the implementation of reconstruction projects. She announced the conference about refugee return which will be held in Banja Luka on 19th and 20th October. The report was produced by OBN reporter from the town, Valentina Knezevic.
This was followed by a report on the OHR’s press conference held today in Banja Luka. The OHR Spokesman, James Ferguson, said that the OHR was surprised and concerned with the BiH Presidency member, Zivko Radisic, and the ex RS President, Nikola Poplasen, visit to Belgrade. Ferguson reminded that the Yugoslav President had been accused of war crimes and that Nikola Poplasen was no longer the RS President. World
A report on the two day visit of the UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, to Kosovo was followed by reports on current events in Croatia, Serbia and the USA. The report was produced by OBN journalist, Gordana Frimel.
Montenegro
A piece on the media environment in Montenegro. Montenegrin media are starting co-operation with media from South East Europe and change their relationship with the public. Last night, Stipe Mesic from Croatia was the guest on TV Montenegro. This was the first visit of the last, ex Yugoslav president to Montenegro. The report on this was produced from Podgorica by OBN reporter, Amarildo Gutic.
This was followed by a report on the progress of Russian troops towards the Chechen capital, the current situation in Israel, Austria and Mexico.
Pakistan
A report on the coup d’etat in Pakistan. The Indian military has been alerted because of this. The report on that was produced by OBN journalist, Mladen Maric.
Brcko
A report on the implementation of the final arbitrary decision in Brcko, announced by the Supervisor, Robert Farrand, today. He accused entities’ leaders of delays in implementation of the arbitrary decision. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter from the area, Slobodanka Radojkovic.
This was followed by a report on the de-militarisation of the Brcko district, planned by the arbitrary decision on Brcko. SFOR will not participate in that although it will supervise it. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter, Vedran Persic, who interviewed the SFOR General, James Campbell. The General, who participates in the process of de-militarisation, said they were not expecting any problems. This was followed by a report from Brcko, produced by OBN reporter from the area, Darko Milosevic.
Mostar
A piece on the promotion of the school programme for Croat pupils in BiH elementary and secondary schools. The pupils will learn about BiH within the national group of subjects. OBN reporter from the area, Blazica Kristo, produced the report.
Sarajevo
This was followed by a report on the prominent professor of theology, Franjo Topic, who explains for TV INFO why he had been forbidden to serve a mass for the deceased Croat emigrant, Bruno Busic, in Paris. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter, Mirela Pehar.
OBN reporter, Anes Alic, produced a report on the shooting of the film “Sarajevo” which will start at the beginning of next year. It was announced that the director of the film would not be Veljko Bulajic as it had been previously announced. At today’s press conference in Sarajevo, it was not announced who will be the new director.
Banja Luka
The RS Children Theatre returned from the Festival “Golden Knight” held in Bulgaria. The director and technical performance were presented with awards. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter from Banja Luka, Sanela Zivkovic.
Sport
A report on local football was followed by reports on the preparations for the EURO 2000 and international basketball.
