Zenica

In Zenica, another landslide occurred. As a result, the Head of the Zenica Municipality pronounced a state of emergency. It was announced that landslides in the Municipality were caused by the melting of snow, OBN reporter, Adis Saranovic, confirmed.

Sarajevo

From February 14th until 16th, Bosnia and Herzegovina will chair the work table of the Stability Pact. The topic of the meeting will be security. This is one of the three work table meetings for the implementation of the Pact principles. According to the received applications, thirty five states and seventeen international organisations have confirmed their participation to date. The funds for the organisation of the meeting will be provided by the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It has not been announced yet how much the organisation of the meeting will cost. Banja Luka

A three day conference on the bilateral relations between BiH and Yugoslavia has finished. The participants of the Conference presented a joint statement at the end. During the Conference, representatives of political parties, non-governmental organisations and trade unions were discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the two states. OBN reporter from Banja Luka, Dragan Stanimirovic, produced the report.

World

Six Albanians and two French members of KFOR were wounded in a bomb explosion near the train station in Kosovska Mitrovica. UN police announced that several civilians were wounded in the North of the town where a bomb was thrown at a house. In Northern Ireland, the Ulster Union party imposed new conditions for the return to joint Government with Republicans. The leader of the Unionists said that his party would participate in the Government only if IRA truly starts with handing over of arms. Brcko

Some 2,500 citizens of Brcko held peaceful protests because of the eviction of refugees and displaced persons for whom alternative accommodation was not provided. Recently, some of the eviction orders were cancelled by the multi-ethnic commission and OHR because they have been considered invalid. The implementation of all other eviction orders will be continued on Tuesday, February 15th. OBN reporter from Brcko, Slobodanka Radojkovic, produced the report.

Brezik (Tuzla)

After the return of refugee Bosniaks to sixty residential quarters in the RS, citizens of the RS currently located in the Tuzla region are more interested in return to the BiH Federation. The pre-war inhabitants of the Kalesija village, Brezik, were among those who first decided to return. Currently, 42 houses have been reconstructed in the village. The report was produced by OBN reporter from the area, Muhamed Berbic.

Sarajevo

A piece on the regular session of the Association of Independent Intellectuals “Circle 99” in Sarajevo. The topic of today’s gathering was university education in Bosnia and Herzegovina and European standards. The guest of today’s session was Professor Wolfgang Benedek, the President of the World University Service. The participants discussed the problems BiH universities have been faced with after the war. OBN reporter, Mirna Sadikovic, produced the report.

The guest of TV Info and its presenter, Jasminka Sipka, was a popular Croatian pop singer, Doris Dragovic, who will hold a concert in Sarajevo on February 14th, Valentine’s Day. OBN will be a media sponsor of the concert. Doris Dragovic said she was glad to be in Sarajevo again.

Reports on international skiing, ski jumps, car race, NBA and international football were presented.
