BiH Workers

Workers in both BiH entities have announced protests. The RS syndicate gave an opportunity to the Government to answer their requests until Friday. The Independent Syndicate of BiH in Sarajevo confirmed that the general strike will start on October 25th although the BiH Federation Government warned organisers not to start up the strike. Visit of the UN Secretary General

Two minutes before the midnight, the six billionth inhabitant of the Planet Earth was born in Sarajevo, OBN reporter, Danijela Bozic, confirmed. The UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, visited the hospital, mother and child. The Secretary General also visited an orphanage home in Sarajevo.

Sarajevo

During the second day of the UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, official visit to BiH, the Secretary General met with the BiH Council of Ministers, the Foreign Minister, Jadranko Prlic and the BiH Federation Prime Minister, Edhem Bicakcic. After that, the UN Secretary General held the press conference. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter, Zeljka Lekic.

This was followed by a report on the work of the BiH Council of Ministers. Although the Constitutional Court pronounced current posts of the Co-chairman and the Vice-chairman illegal, the Council of Ministers did not reach the decision on the reconstruction. A report on the reaction of the OHR to the request of the BiH Presidency member, Zivko Radisic, for the withdrawal of charges raised by the BiH Republic against the Federal Republic Yugoslavia. The OHR announced that the RS National Assembly did not have authorisations to manage functioning of state institutions. This means that conclusions of the RS National Assembly, regarding these charges, do not have any legal basis.

World

A report on current events in Pristina, Kosovo. A new member of the UN Mission in Kosovo from Bulgaria was killed in the center of the town. This is the first case that an international officer was murdered in the area. This was followed by a report on protests of opposition parties in Serbia. The number of protesters has been decreased. Reports on Chechenia, East Timor, Austria and Mexico followed. The report was produced by OBN journalist, Mladen Maric.

Srednja-Bosna Canton

A report on the refusal of HDZ and HSP (Croat political parties in BiH) to participate in the work of the Srednja Bosna Canton Assembly. They ask the change of the Canton Constitution, that is the part which is connected with reaching vital decisions. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter from Travnik, Branka Vrebac.

Sarajevo

Armies of both BiH entities agreed to decrease military potential for 15% in both BiH entities until December 31st. The Permanent Military Committee agreed to take cake for dismissed soldiers. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Slobodan Maksimovic.

Bijeljina

A piece on the agriculture activities in the Semberija area. The farmers are satisfy with the corn harvest, OBN reporter from the area, Zeljko Pantelic, confirmed.

Banja Luka

A report on alleged taking of bribe for issuing of international transport licenses in the RS. The RS Ministry of Traffic claim that the allegations were not true, OBN reporter from the town, Valentina Knezevic, confirmed.

Sarajevo

A piece on the establishment of the new non-governmental organisation. At today’s meeting with media, the University Professor, Gajo Sekulic, presented this peace initiative, OBN reporter, Anes Alic, confirmed.
