Srednja Bosna Canton

Last night, twenty prostitutes were arrested in a police raid made in Vitez, Busovaca and Novi Travnik. All arrested individuals are foreign citizens, from Moldavia, Rumania and Ukraine. The police decided to organise the action due to a number of syphilis cases and one AIDS case in the Canton. According to the police sources, there are at least 86 foreign prostitutes in this Canton. Vanja Elezovic produced a report on this.

Sarajevo

A source close to OBN reports that the BiH Federation Government will pay debt of 800 thousand DEM to the BiH Federation Railroads very soon. Last week, the company got new managing board. Employees of the Company were not informed about that and found out that through media. OBN reporter, Damir Kaletovic, produced a report on this.

This was followed by a report on difficult position of the BiH Federation miners and their decision to go on strike if no changes were made.

Zenica

Employees of the Zenica meat factory, Zmajevac, are on strike again due to unpaid salaries for the last 18 months, Koraljka Kurcenberger confirmed for OBN. The employees believe that the value of the company is minimised due to the forthcoming process of privatisation.

Sanski Most

Sanski Most Municipality Council decided to deprive Mayor, Mehmed Alagic, of his immunity on a temporary basis. The High Representative asked Alagic to resign or to suspend its action until the current investigation on misuse of his authorisations is completed. OHR still expects Alagic’s resignation.

Mostar

Frano Ljubic, the Prime Minister of the Herzegovina Neretva Canton, resigned due to the recent decision of the High Representative regarding the Canton. Carlos Westendorp decided to establish a Court in the district and that the seal would be in two languages. Blazica Kristo produced a report on this for OBN.

The Hague

A report on the start of trial to Radoslav Brdanin, the ex leader of the SDS Party, indited for mass exodus of Bosniaks and Croats during the war in BiH. OBN received a report on this directly from Hague. Radoslav Brdanin was arrested in Banja Luka by the British troops on July 6th.

Sarajevo

report on the meeting between the coordinator of the European Union for the South East Europe Pact of Stability and the BiH Presidency members in Sarajevo today about organisation of the forthcoming event. The date of the Summit will be announced on Wednesday in Brussels. OBN reporter, Vedran Persic, produced the report.

Banja Luka

The Government of the RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik, was granted new funds for the RS budget. The funds will be used for payment of salaries to the RS teachers and employees of the Ministry for Refugees. USAID provided the funds.

Sarajevo

This was followed by an announcement that the Managing Board of the Council for the Dayton Peace Agreement Implementation approved nomination of Wolfgang Petritsch for the new High Representative of the International Community in BiH.

In one of her last interviews as the UN Special Envoy, Elizabeth Rehn, said for OBN: “We can not forget Srebrenica, we have to keep it as a wound in our flesh, internationally and nationally.”

Tesanj / Doboj Jug / Usora

A report on establishment of joint police management in the Tesanj. Doboj Jug and Usora municipalities. Due to the problems with municipalities’ borders, joint police authorities in Maglaj have not been established yet.

Kosovo

Tomorrow in Brussels, representatives of the most developed countries in the world will discuss funds needed for reconstruction of Kosovo. A report on situation in Serbia was presented. Safet Bisevac, OBN reporter from Skoplje, sent his report for TV INFO.

Sarajevo

A report on the visit of the USA medical doctor to Sarajevo who is helping paraplegics to get children. The project was supported by the BiH Federation Government.

A report on the Formula One crash in Great Britain yesterday was followed by reports on the Latin America Football Cup.
