Buenos Aires

Plane of an Argentine air company crashed in Buenos Aires. There were 69 causalities at least. The report was produced by OBN journalist, Slobodan Maksimovic.

Sarajevo

A report on the arrival of the USA Ambassador to UN, Richard Holbrooke, to three day visit to BiH. The Ambassador met with the BiH Presidency which informed him about an initiative to proclaim November 21st, the day of signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, for a national holiday in BiH, OBN reporter, Bakir Hadziomerovic, confirmed. The Ambassador visits Banja Luka and Mostar tomorrow.

This was followed by the BiH Federation Prime Minister, Edhem Bicakcic, interview for OBN who explained why he said he would raised charges against the journalist of The New York Times, who wrote an article about corruption in BiH published on August 17th. OBN reporter, Vedran Persic, produced the report.

Bosanski Brod

A piece on the continuation of the RS financial police investigation conducted in the Bosanski Brod refinery. The OBN reporter from the area, Valentina Knezevic, produced the report.

Turkey (Istanbul)

Many of the buildings, destroyed in Istanbul, were damaged due to improper constructing, OBN reporter from Turkey, Amarildo Gutic, reported.

OHR

The High Representative in BiH, Wolfgang Petritsch, made a decision on changes of the law which refers to the RS Radio and Television. Name of the station, which was in use to date, “Srpska Radio Televizija”, will be changed.

Banja Luka

A report on the decision of the RS Union to start strike of teachers in this BiH entity. Sixty seven per cent of the RS elementary and secondary schools are on strike as from today.

Zavidovici

Pensioners in Zavidovici blocked the traffic today due to unpaid pensions and their difficult economic situation. The report was produced by OBN reporter from the area, Mustafa Mujanovic.

Kosovo

A piece on the first time after six months that students in Kosovo restarted attending the school. Some of the schools were closed since the beginning of 1998, when Serb authorities started to expel the Kosovo Albanians. The report was produced by OBN journalist, Zeljka Lekic.

World

This was followed by reports on the current events in Germany and Poland, Russia, Middle East and East Timor.

Zagreb

The Court Council in Zagreb still did not reach decision on handing over Mladen Naletilic Tuta to the Hague Tribunal. The report on this was produced by OBN reporter from Zagreb, Zoran Vezic.

This was followed by a report on the secret lists of the Hague Tribunal. The Hague Tribunal Prosecutor, Louise Arbour, said that the secrecy of indictments had to be protected with all possible means.

Mostar

A report on the last week event when the agreement about the central zone of Mostar, made with support of the International Mediator, Christian Schwarz Schilling, was not signed. OBN reporter from Mostar tried to answer the quaestion why that happened.

Gradacac

The 26th international show of plums was opened in Gradacac today. Approximately 100 local and international companieswill take part in the show.

Sport

A report on the International TV Basketball Tournament “Banja Luka 99” was followed by reports on the local football matches and the US Open tennis tournament.
