CONTRACT TYPE:            National (2 positions)

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:

Within the framework of the case-based track of the Anti Crime and Corruption Unit (ACCU) strategy, the incumbents will co-ordinate and guide investigations undertaken by the competent local investigation agencies with a view towards developing corruption and fraud cases for prosecution. These positions include developing and preparing information that can be used as a basis for case development, support on-going investigations and the general decision-making process of the High Representative. This means also establishing and maintaining relationships with both local and international institutions and agencies involved in the investigation and prosecution of economic crime with a view towards improving capacities and methods.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

         Collect information and develop information networks for cases and the general work of the OHR and ACCU;

         Coordinate under the supervision of the Head of Investigation Unit with international agencies in information-sharing and case development;

         Support systemic reform through other activities undertaken by the ACCU in this regards, including the development of strategies and legislation;

         Assist and support the prosecution of cases as required;

         Represent the ACCU when required.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:          

         Minimum experience – 3 years of finalcial fraud investigation experience, including experience in economic crime and/or corruption;

         Background in law enforcement is preferable, especially with experience of undertaking investigations in an international environment;

         Very good interpersonal skills to interact with both international and local experts;

         Strong personal commitment to peace implementation and anti-fraud/corruption activities in BiH. Knowledge of BIH political situation/environment is highly recommended;

         Willingness to work long hours and in a team;

         Good knowledge of written and spoken English required.
