Property Law Implementation has reached 90 per cent throughout BiH as of the end of September 2003.
The local housing authorities in BiH have solved 198,197 of the total of 220,225 property claims recorded. In particular, a rise of 2 per cent was noted in the Federation of BiH, where 90 per cent of the total claims have been resolved, while in Republika Srpska a rise of 1 per cent from the August 2003 figure resulted in 89 per cent of claims resolved. Further, the implementation ratio in Brčko District remained at 96 per cent.
This month, another nine municipalities joined the group of those having finalised their property claims thus increasing the number to 54 municipalities. The process of verification of substantial completion of property law implementation for these municipalities has now formally started.
Since there are another 34 municipalities with an implementation ratio over 95 per cent, PLIP agencies expect that more municipalities will very soon follow this path and will go on to demonstrate their substantial completion of all legal obligations under the property laws, in accordance with the PLIP Municipal Guidelines for Substantial Completion of Property Law Implementation.
