HR/EUSR Inzko Commends Joint Effort of BiH Police Agencies

The High Representative and EU Special Representative, Valentin Inzko joined the chorus of voices commending the joint efforts of law enforcement agencies on Tuesday in Gornja Maoca village and congratulated them on the professionalism they exercised during the operation. “The state, entity, cantonal, and Brcko District security and law enforcement agencies have demonstrated their professionalism and showed that they are fully capable of dealing with even the most serious and complex operations”, said HR/EUSR Inzko.
He emphasized the importance of the fact that state, entity, District and cantonal law enforcement agencies conducted the operation under the authority of the State Court and State Prosecutor’s office, adding that such joint actions demonstrate the kind of cross-cutting cooperation needed to uphold the rule of law in the face of today’s complex security challenges.
“We cannot allow ‘no-go’ areas for the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina: it must extend throughout the entire territory of the country and apply to all who threaten the constitutional order and laws of BiH,” said HR/EUSR Inzko. “While there is no connection between this operation and conditions for visa liberalization, it does show that the confidence we already have in BiH’s security and law enforcement agencies has been well founded,” HR/EUSR Inzko observed.
