HR Inzko Meets with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon

The international community has an ongoing responsibility to help Bosnia and Herzegovina and its people to re-integrate and to build a lasting future of peace and stability, High Representative Valentin Inzko said during a meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in Sarajevo today.
“The Secretary-General’s visit to BiH and the region is a demonstration from the highest levels of diplomacy that the international community remains committed to ensuring peace and stability and assisting Bosnia and Herzegovina in making progress,” HR Inzko said.
Recalling that 2012 marks the 20 year anniversary of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s admission as a member state to the United Nations, along with Croatia and Slovenia, Inzko praised the country’s recent successful membership on the United Nations Security Council.
“This anniversary is also special for my home country Austria as then Austrian Ambassador Dr. Peter Hohenfellner was presiding over the Security Council when BiH was admitted to the UN,” Inzko said.
The High Representative was speaking at a meeting that he co-hosted with the UN Secretary-General for representatives of the International Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
