High Representative/EU Special Representative meets Croatian President

The High Representative and EU Special Representative, Miroslav Lajčák, met today with the President of the Republic of Croatia, Stjepan Mesić, during his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina. HR/EUSR Miroslav Lajčák informed President Mesić about the steps being taken to successfully complete the reform process which would, ultimately, further BiH’s progress in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration. President Mesić and HR/EUSR Lajčák agreed that concluding police reform is successfully is essential for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s EU aspirations. “Solving this issue opens the road for BiH to join the EU, that is the only proper future both for BiH and for the other countries in the region. All the countries of the region have expressed their wish to become fully-fledged members of the EU”, the HR/EUSR said. President Mesic invited the HR/EUSR to visit Zagreb, the HR/EUSR accepted.
