I wish Major General Fronda every success in leading EUFOR ALTHEA Mission and promise close contact with EUFOR Commander to facilitate the discharge of our respective responsibilities.” said High Representative Christian Schmidt, as he attended the EUFOR Change of Command ceremony at Camp Butmir in Sarajevo.
The event marked the handover of command within Operation Althea. Major General Maurizio Fronda of the Italian Armed Forces took over command from the Romanian Major General Florin-Marian Barbu.
