RS obstruction of efficient statistics gathering in Bosnia and Herzegovina is having a direct and substantial negative impact on efforts to attract investment and create jobs, Principal Deputy High Representative Larry Butler told business students participating today at a roundtable on the BiH business environment.

The High Representative , Paddy Ashdown, has written to RS President Dragan Cavic expressing dissatisfaction with recent public statements by Mr Cavic defending comments made by RS Interior Minister Darko Matijasevic.

The High Representative, Paddy Ashdown, today announced a series of measures that he is taking in response to the violation of a High Representative’s Decision of 30 June 2004, blocking all SDS bank accounts and requiring any financial transaction in excess of 150 KM to be conducted through a single authorised bank account.

The High Representative today replied to RS Minister of Interior, Darko Matijasevic, giving him seven working days to reconsider his position.
