Action in the Republika Srpska National Assembly Postponed

High Representative Valentin Inzko today took note of the fact that the RS National Assembly has postponed discussion on his letter of May 25.
In that letter the High Representative warned the RSNA that their conclusions instruct RS institutions to act in a way that that is contrary to the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton Peace Agreement.
Yesterday the RSNA avoided the issue by moving the discussion on the RSNA Conclusions of 14 May from the second item on the agenda, to the thirty-third agenda item, thus postponing a decision to the end of the month.
The High Representative noted today that the RSNA took a rational decision not to make the conclusions legally effective by not publishing them in the official gazette.
High Representative Inzko will inform the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board about the fact that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska has failed to act and will consider his further steps in the coming period.
