Joint Statement by the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board Ambassadors and the High Representative on Constitutional Reform
The PIC Steering Board Ambassadors welcome the progress made by Bosnia and Herzegovina's political leaders towards a package of constitutional amendments that would significantly improve governance. The Ambassadors also welcomed the valuable facilitation role played by the United States to assist the talks. This is a major step in the right direction - towards Europe, towards a better functioning and more efficient State, and towards meeting human rights standards. Pending the recommendations of the Venice Commission, we urge the parties to reach an agreement to complete this package in time for preparations to proceed for the October elections.
