PIC Regrets Parties Unable to Reach Compromise
Meeting today in Sarajevo, the Ambassadors of the Steering Board of the Peace
Implementation Council (PIC SBA) welcomed the efforts of OHR to give HDZ-BiH,
HDZ-1990, SDP, and SDA the best chance to move forward more than five months
after the October 2010 elections. However, they also expressed their regret that
parties were not able to agree to the compromise proposal that would have
established a broad-based coalition in the Federation.
The PIC SBA urges all parties to act responsibly and in line with the
Constitutions and the Dayton Peace Accord. The political parties must now turn
their attention to the urgent practical challenges facing the people of Bosnia
and Herzegovina.[1]
