Statement of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sarajevo, 12 September 1997

The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina held its 23rd session in the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo on 12 September 1997.

The members of the Presidency exchanged the lists of the candidates for the ambassadors of Bosnia and Herzegovina and reached an agreement on this issue to a great extent. They agreed to resolve this issue on the next session.

The Presidency will discuss the proposals for the Laws on Citizenship and Travel Documents in the follow-up session of the BiH Presidency.

The Presidency made a decision that 200.000 DM be provided from the Bosnia-Herzegovina Budget from the item “other beneficiaries” for funding Chamber for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The agreement was reached on holding the first meeting of the Standing Committee for Military Matters in the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo on Monday, 15 September, and that the first meeting be chaired by Kresimir Zubak, member of the BiH Presidency.

The Presidency accepted an invitation to participate in the 2nd Summit of the Council of Europe to be held on 10 – 11 October in Strasbourg.

The Presidency also made a decision on settling the obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the membership of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the international organizations for 1997.

The Presidency also accepted the agreements for Wilhelm Schmid and Khalaf Abbas Khalaf as new Ambassadors of Switzerland and Kuwait to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
