In the framework of a working visit to Montenegro, RS Prime Minister Dodik and the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Filip Vujanovic, discussed co-operation of the electricity supply industries of both republics. The construction of common infrastructure also formed part of the discussions.

In the course of a working visit to Trebinje, Prime Minister Dodik, along with the vice presidents of the Government, Ostoja Kremenovic and Novak Kondic, and the Minister for Information, Rajko Vasic, visited the “Novotex” factory and familiarised himself with the work process.

The Italian president, Oscar Luigi Scalfaro, announced increased economic co-operation between Italy and BiH during a meeting with members of the BiH Presidency in Sarajevo. An integral part of today’s talks was also the Kosovo issue. Members of the Presidency agreed that the crisis must be solved in a peaceful political way, emphasising the need for a greater engagement by Italy in resolving the Kosovo problem.

Momcilo Krajisnik today received the Military Adviser to the HR and the international co-ordinator of the Standing Military Committee. A press release form Krajisnik’s cabinet said that the meeting discussed the work of the Sanding Military Committee and possible models for the functioning of this body in the future.

The HR to BiH, Carlos Westendorp, appointed Simon Haselock his Deputy for Media Issues, announced the OHR. At a press conference held in Sarajevo, Simon Haselock presented a long report full of condemnation for the authorities which do not respect the Sarajevo Declaration on Refugee Return.

A new tax policy was one of the subjects discussed by the SNSD at a press conference held in Banja Luka today. Commenting on the statement given by Hanns Schumacher regarding the possibility of introducing sanctions against the RS for disrespecting the Banja Luka Conference on Refugee Return, Bastinac stressed that this should be done first in FBiH and Croatia, since, as he said, the Sarajevo Conference on Refugee Return was held before the Banja Luka conference. He added that sanctions would have a negative effect and would stall even more the refugee and DPs return.
