OSCE announced preliminary election results. 1/3 of votes have been counted so far. According to the results, national parties won the majority of votes. The results can be found on OSCE web page: www.oscebih.org.Reported by Zeljka Lekic and Anes Alic.

Several parties organised press conferences today. SDA, SDS and HDZ claim that they won the majority of votes. According to Kresimir Zubak (NHI), there were several irregularities during the election. “Election results are similar to those in 1990. A cold war will take place as a consequence”, the LDS Vice-Chairman, Hamid Custovic said.

Although the High Representative has the authority to change entity laws, most RS parties do not approve this. “Imposing of laws is not good for B&H. This creates a feeling of protectorate. It is far more important that politicians agree on laws among themselves”, Mladen Ivanic (PDP) said. Reported by Tatjana Lajsic.

This evening’s guest in TV INFO was Nikola Grabovac, the Vice-Chairman of the Alternative Council of Ministers. “Objectively, I think that laws should not be imposed. But, if local politicians cannot agree on certain issue, someone should stop it one day”, Mr. Grabovac said, talking about the package of laws proclaimed by the High Representative yesterday. “As experts, we should support these laws, regardless of our nationality, because they bring perspective to B&H”, Mr. Grabovac added.

Deadline for investment of vouchers in privatisation investment funds has been prolonged until 22nd December in the RS, Maja Trkulja reported.

“The RS delegation will be against any changes in the Dayton Peace Accords at the forthcoming Dayton Conference on 17th and 18th November”, the Chairman of the B&H Presidency, Zivko Radisic said. Reconstruction of south-east Europe, future of Kosovo and the next phase of the Dayton Peace Accords in B&H are some of the themes that shall be discussed. Mostar

The Implementation Board of the Croat National Assembly organised a press conference in Mostar. About 71% of Croats voted at the Croat referendum, the Board announced. The Assembly Chairmen will decide how to use results of the referendum, they emphasised. Reported by Anita Damjanovic.

Sarajevo

Enes Aljic started a hunger-strike in front of the Presidency Building this morning, demanding that the decision of the Tuzla Municipal Court is respected. The Court decided that “Elektrodistribucija” in Tuzla owes Aljic DM 1 billion of compensation, due to non-payment of monthly instalments from 1986-1998. Reported by Amarildo Gutic.

The Stability Pact Co-ordinator for south-east Europe, Bodo Hombach opened a two-day consulting Forum with Yugoslav municipalities in Belgrade. The FRY President, Vojislav Kostunica said he was satisfied because there was no globalisation of western aid for Yugoslavia. Gordana Frimel produced the report.
