The High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch announced a package of economic laws, which will change economic-political climates in our country. The Law on the State Court is also in the package. “It proved so far that politics was inefficient, and all issues I pointed out are still unresolved”, Mr. Petritsch said. All parties in the Federation of B&H claim that they won the majority of votes in the election. They also claim that there were irregularities during the voting, and that the pre-election silence was violated. Reported by Svjetlana Celic and Anes Alic.

Banja Luka

According to the SDS Election Headquarters, their candidates Mirko Sarovic and Dragan Cavic won in all election units. 236 000 ballots have been counted so far. SNSD candidates, Milorad Dodik and Dobroslav Cuk won 37,2 % of votes, and SDS candidates 47%, SNSD announced. Biljana Arsic produced the report.

According to the PDP Vice-Chairman, Rajko Latinovic, candidates of this party are on the third place. “This position is satisfactory, because we had a realistic prognosis”, Mr. Latinovic said. Reported by Sanela Zivkovic.

According to preliminary election results, HDZ won in 5 Cantons: Hercegovacko-Neretvljanski, Zapadno-Hercegovacki, Srednjo-Bosanski, Posavski and Herceg-Bosanski. Announcing the victory, according to news agencies, the HDZ Chairman said: “With the HDZ election victory, missions of Robert Barry, Wolfgang Petritsch and Jacques Klein in B&H ended”.

According to the High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch and the Head of the OSCE Mission in B&H, Robert Barry, the elections in B&H were very successful. “Ante Jelavic is the only official in the region who is against the Dayton Peace Accords.”, Mr. Petritsch said. Reported by Zeljka Lekic.

“I think we should wait and see the final figures. It is clear that SDP did a good job in the Federation, and that SDS did a good job in the RS”, the US Ambassador Thomas Miller said. “If Jelavic really gave this statement, then it is a very ill-advised tactics to use”, Mr. Miller added.
