Clarisse Pásztory ( Austria ) assumed her duties as Deputy High Representative and Head of OHR Banja Luka on 8 November 2006.

Ms. Pásztory came to Bosnia and Herzegovina with ample experience in the region, previous assignments include Kosovo (2004-2006, Senior Political Advisor to the Kosovo Status Delegation and the Government of Kosovo; Office of the Personal Representative of the EU HR for CFSP), and FYRoM (2001-2004, Senior Political Advisor in the Office of the EU Special Representative in Skopje, seconded by the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

From 1993 to 2001, Clarisse Pásztory held various functions in Austria , including tasks related to Austria ’s EU accession within the Austrian Federal Economic Organization and Secretary General of the Council of Economic and Social Issues. She was chairperson and member of a number of think-tanks and working groups dealing with European Integration, economic and social policy and the European security architecture.   

From 1990 to 1993 she free-lanced as journalist and media monitor for Central and Eastern Europe . Between 1987 and 1990 she worked with the United Nations Secretariat in New York , assisting meetings of the General Assembly, the Political Committee, the Special Session on Disarmament and the Security Council.

From 1983 onwards, Clarisse Pásztory was actively involved in Austrian youth politics, and later participated in the management and conduct of a number of national, presidential and European electoral campaigns.

Ms. Pásztory holds degrees from the American Webster University ( St. Louis , Geneva , Vienna ) from where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies/Economics in 1991 and a Master of Arts in International Relations in 1993. Her thesis dealt with “The Common Foreign and Security Policy after Maastricht against the Background of the EU Policy towards former Yugoslavia ”. She is also a graduate from the University of Vienna, Austria (Magister, Political Sciences, 1994) and the University of Fribourg , Switzerland (Postgraduate Studies in Non-Profit Management, specialization in Strategic Planning, 2001).

She speaks German (mother tongue), English, French, Italian, Albanian, and has a basic knowledge of Slavic languages.
