The High Reprsentative, Wolfgang Petritsch, today met the joint
delegation of the Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia Football Federations. The
joint delegation, led by Presidents Jusuf Pusina and Vlatko Markovic informed
the High Representative of the joint bid of the Football Federations of Bosnia
and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia to host the 2008 European Football
Championships. The High Representative welcomed the joint bid of the two
football Federations, as an important example of regional co-operation, capable
of drawing much needed international attention and investment for the region.
The High Representative stressed that sport can play an
important role in the reconciliation process in the region and urged the
football Federations to support initiatives which build confidence between
countries and communities.
