The High Representative welcomed today news that the Prime
Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers of the Federation plan to meet on Monday to
discuss ways to work together to make the government function.
“The international community would have no understanding for
any unilateral action that would raise political tensions,” he said.
We would hope that the Prime Minister and his Deputies use
their meeting on Monday to start to find a joint political solution that will
ensure the functionality of the Government until outstanding political issues in
the Federation are resolved, said High Representative Inzko today.
In his contacts with Federation officials last week, the High
Representative has reiterated the International Community’s view that neither
group of parties in the Federation is without blame for the current situation,
and that those involved must refrain from taking any further steps that could
destabilize the situation at this politically sensitive time.
