On July 16, in proceedings before the Sarajevo
Municipal Court No. 2, Ramiz Delalic AKA Celo was convicted of physical assault
on a police officer and sentenced to seven months in prison. The proceedings
were conducted in an efficient manner in accordance with the laws of Bosnia and
Herzegovina despite threats and intimidations made against police and judicial
officials involved in the case. The Office of the High Representative (OHR) is
encouraged that the Rule of Law has prevailed and urges that all criminal
proceedings, no matter who the defendant, be heard under the appropriate laws
and regulations of the country.
