The single BiH Driving License conforms to the latest European standards for quality and appearance.  On 30 October 2002, the European Commission Directorate-General for Energy and Transport wrote that "the Commission wishes to indicate that the [BiH Driving License] is in conformity with the Council Directive 96/47/EC."  The BiH Driving License, made of the same high quality polycarbonate material and personalized with same secure laser engraving technology as the BiH Citizen Identity Card, will greatly facilitate travel for BiH drivers in the region and in the European Union.
