High Representative Meets Hungarian Foreign Affairs Minister

High Representative Valentin Inzko met today in Budapest with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs János Martonyi to inform him on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bosnia and Herzegovina can emerge from its present political stalemate if the International Community remains engaged in the country and local politicians actively work towards compromise and solutions, the High Representative said. “We need to keep promoting dialogue among the parties to ensure that the country makes progress and is not left behind the rest of the region in the Euro-Atlantic integration process,” he added.

The High Representative thanked the Foreign Minister of Hungary, which currently also holds the Presidency of the Visegrad group, for his country’s contribution to peace and stability in BiH through its contribution of troops to EUFOR, as well as Hungary’s advocacy on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
