Decision extending the validity of the Council of Ministers’ Decision on additional import duties to the year 2000

In the exercise of my authority under Annex 10 of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina (GFAP) and Article XI of the Bonn Agreement;

Noting that the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has not made a Decision on Determining Imported Products on which Additional Import Duties will be paid during the year 2000 and the amount of these Duties, and that the Government of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of Republika Srpska expressed their position that in the year of 2000, it is strongly needed to ensure the protection and incentives of domestic production through Additional Import Duty of certain goods in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and with the aim of harmonizing conditions for trading domestic goods at market of Bosnia and Herzegovina with similar or same imported products, I hereby issue the following:

DECISION

I

The identical text of the Decision on Determining Imported Products on which Additional Import Duties will be paid during the year 1999 and the amount of these Duties (Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina, No. 2/99 and 15/99) shall be effective for the year of 2000.

II

This Decision shall enter into force immediately and shall be published without delay in the Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the Official Gazettes of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and of the Republika Srpska. It shall remain in effect until a new Decision on the same matter has been passed by the Council of Ministers in accordance with articles 31, 32 and 33 of the law on Foreign Trade Policy (Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina No. 7/98), which decision should be taken prior to March 31, 2000.
