Dear Presidents, Ministers,

It’s now a very long time that activities of the BH Presidency, as well as that of the other common institutions, has been interrupted. I would like to remind you once more that the current situation of total blockage of the work of the common institutions is seriously prejudicial to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose main concern is to have functioning and efficient authorities able to take care of their interests and those of their country.

It’s of paramount importance to resume immediately the work: both the general situation of the region and the significant challenges that Bosnia and Herzegovina has to face in the immediate future require the full engagement and the co-operative attitude of all the members of the common institutions. As an example, I would call to your memory only two important matters which should be immediately discussed: the preparation of the forthcoming Donors’ Conference and of the meeting of the Joint Presidency with the Council of Europe.

Therefore, in the interest of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and under the authorities vested upon me by the Peace Implementation Council in Bonn (XI, 2 a), I convene an ordinary session of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday, 20 April, at 11.00 h, in the premises of my Office in Sarajevo.

I would like to request also the presence of the Co-Chairs and the Vice-Chair of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The proposed agenda of the meeting will be sent as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely,

Carlos Westendorp
High Representative
