Statement by Mr. Carl Bildt, High Representative

As High Representative I congratulate Bosnia and Herzegovina on this 53rd National Day. I welcome the words of President Izetbegovic and echo his words of tolerance for all. The history of this country does of course strech beyond 1943 and to a time when all the peoples of this land lived in harmony. You the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina must now look to the future and work towards the restoration of the tolerance that exists in the heart of all true Bosnians.
