OHR welcomes today’s passage of the Federation BiH Law on Internal Affairs by the Federation BiH House of Peoples. The Law provides for efficient and professional police work and sets effective barriers to improper political influence in the work of the police.
High Representative Valentin Inzko commended the Federation BiH authorities, in particular Federation Minister of Interior Predrag Kurtes, for exercising foresight and wisdom in putting in place a solid piece of legislation.
“This long running legislative initiative has reached its successful conclusion today. The citizens of the Federation are the main beneficiaries as is the case with any well developed law. It is a good model for the cantons to follow,” said Inzko.
